Keep having to reset the outside channel and it's not worth the hassle. Wouldn't buy another one if it was only a $1.

Picked this up as an inexpensive replacement for a wall unit that died of old age. It was a bit smaller than I expected (should have read the specs more carefully). I set the outdoor sensor next to the indoor unit for about an hour. The outside unit reported about two degrees higher. As long as that remains consistent, it's easy enough to correct. There's also a min/max history so you can see temperature range over a given time.
The unit has a little stand for vertical mounting and this is probably a better way to use it. It could easily go on a desk or a nightstand. Be aware that you must manually set the time. This does not pick up broadcast time.

I would have given this product a five, except the first day I placed the remote monitor in the garage and the base unit in the Kitchen, it stoped sending the garage temp. Clicked the channel button a couple of times and it started again to transmit. Has worked perfect ever sence. Found a simular unit at Radio Shack, but cost almost twice as much.

Even though this item is much easier to set and replace batteries, than other units we have had, the outside reading is NOT correct. Tested it with 3 other thermometers and it was off by 3 to 4 degrees. The inside is accurate.
I would send it back but my husband loves the inside unit and just subtracts 3 degrees from the outside reading. Go figure!

Received the unit and although it was a bit larger than I expected, it met our needs, at least until it started intermittent, random beeping. After contacting the company and receiving a very quick response, I was told a certain number of units were defective in this regard and that I should return the unit for full replacement.
Thus far, the second unit seems to be working as advertised. If you order one and it has the "random beeping" problem, be sure to return it immediately for replacement!
