 "Does it work?" 2007-06-12
By Suzanne E. Frew
We bought this clock thinking it would automatically change time when you entered different time zones, but on our trip to Europe, the clock never left California time. I paid about $30 for this thinking it would be a great help on our trip, but it didn't do what it said it would do.

 "Hate this clock!" 2007-03-21
By Kathleen Thompson (Hebron, CT USA)
The clock is a great size for travel, but I don't like it at all. It doesn't synch quickly enough to the Atomic Clock, the instructions do not tell you which Atomic Clock to select, and changing the alarm time is difficult. If you get up at the same time each day, it would be fine, but if you change your schedule, it's too much work. Had an old Casio clock that was almost as small that worked much better than does this.

 "Difficult to use/hate it!" 2007-01-02
By Donald D. Anderson (Easton, CT United States)
This clock is the most difficult electronic clock we have every owned. it is extremely small -- the back lighting poor -- the placement of the function keys on the back require you to try to change time or function with your hands pressing a 1/4" button on the back of the clock -- yet monitoring your "progress" or lack thereof by looking at the front. the print on the case below the LCD describing what you are seeing requires a magnifying glass and this clock keeps resetting us to California time on its satellite pick up! The manufacturer has no readily available phone number (Japanese) so I am about to try to contact them via email for some assistance. My advice to you is to skip this one entirely -- it is a waste of nearly $50!!!!

 "OK" 2008-04-06
By MEJ (Seattle, WA USA)
I bought this for around twenty dollars at office maximun (sp) a couple years ago and have seen it recently for much less. The idiglo backlight is ok and better than the incandescent like light on the few SkyScan atomic clocks I have.

 "Save your money" 2008-01-18
By R. J. Beilstein (North Syracuse, NY USA)
This was my fourth "atomic" alarm clock, and by FAR the worst I've ever owned. The controls are anything but intuitive, and the receiver doesn't seem particularly sensitive (I had it sitting right next to the Oregon Scientific clock I use at home, and the very nice Seiko QHR016 travel alarm that I bought to replace it, and both the Oregon Scientific and the Seiko picked up the signal fine, while the Digiview saw nothing).

The worst part, however, is the LCD screen and backlight. First off, the LCD fades badly if you're not looking at just the right angle. The really dim green backlight does too. Unfortunately, the angle at which the screen is most readable and the angle at which the backlight is brightest do NOT coincide. What's more, when my clock was sitting on the nightstand next to my bed, I could not read it without picking it up.

I know that this is a really minor quibble compared to the rest, but the alarm has a really unpleasant tone (at least for me).

Let me put it this way -- I spent almost $50 on this clock just a few weeks ago, and I recently bought the Seiko travel alarm (which I love), and threw the Digiview RC304EL in the trash (even though it was still "working"). That says it all.

 "Great clock. Very accurate." 2009-09-10
By Rich B (MO USA)
I cannot say enough good things about the clock. I can see it just fine in the dark. It syncs up to the Atomic clock broadcast and is exactly in sync with another atomic clock that I have. The temperature display is right on the mark. I let my battery go bad after about 3 years, and the battery leaked in the unit. I carefully cleaned the clock and it worked perfect again when I replace the battery.

 "The Alarm Works" 2009-06-20
By ReviewerX (Louisiana)
It works well as an alarm clock. Also, the indiglo does not light unless you press a button. However, you can only see the time if you hold the clock and tilt it at various angles. I don't know if this is a battery problem, or a design defect. The snooze delay is adjustable. There has to be something better.

 "Highly Dissatisfied" 2009-06-20
By D. Reynolds (Richmond, VA)
This clock would not stay on the entered time zone.

I repeatedly followed the directions and every two weeks

the time would again be 2 hours off.

 "Not worth a penny" 2008-10-25
By SMD (Maine)
I should have paid more attention to the other reviews before buying this clock. Please don't make the same mistake I did. First, there is NO manual clock setting on this clock. Yes, you can adjust the time yourself, but the atomic clock will override your setting in the middle of the night. There is nothing you can do to shut the atomic setting off. Second, an accurate atomic setting would be fine if it actually kept time and was accurate, but it is not. After my clock set itself to Eastern time one night, the next night it jumped ahead 8 full hours. It made no sense to me because it was still set for Eastern time. I tried resetting it multiple times, but the same thing kept happening. Third (like you really need a third for a clock that doesn't work), it only has the Continental United States time zones. So even if the clock kept accurate time in the States, you wouldn't be able to use it elsewhere. I moved to the Canadian border of Maine where the time zone is Atlantic and that made the clock go even more haywire. Please save your money. I hate that I wasted mine.

 "The perfect travel clock" 2008-10-12
By Nightingales (Atlanta, GA)
I have had several atomic clocks and this is the cheapest and best.

Plus:

- always syncs really fast, no matter where in the US I was

- good readability

- shows the time the alarm is set to without having to press a button - that is a big PLUS for me

- has + and - keys, so you can easily set the times

- good to read

- battery lasts forever

- shows temperature as an added plus

- folds up and is very protected

Minus:

- not so easy to operate
