This clock replaced a similar clock that has been in use 30 years. I like this type of clock because it stops when there is a power failure; this indicates to me how long the power was out. Great price and difficult to find in retail stores.

I'm sorry to report that this clock is a useless clock -- it did not keep the correct time! I have never had an electric clock that didn't even keep time. Other failures (alarm, lighted dial, etc.) with a clock's old age I can understand, but to not even keep the correct time right out of the box is nothing but a useless clock. I was very disappointed with my purchase. I quickly returned the clock and Amazon refunded me in full -- 5 stars for Amazon!

I am very pleased with this clock. I looked in five local stores, and could not find one like this, everything was digital, which I did not want. This was to replace one I'd had for many years. This clock is great, love it.

After checking out a lot of clocks, chose this basic. Did every thing it said it would except keep time; every 3-4 hours the hands stopped moving. The $5 return charge for the $10 clock made driving over it for Holloween more satisfying.

...a low-tech electric alarm clock. I bought this as a gift for my picky mother, who was distraught that her old bedside clock--a version similar to this one--died after many years faithful service. She wanted an electric clock (with a plug, not batteries) with a lighted dial and this one filled the bill. Simple, no frills..it tells the time and wakes you up. She also likes the silent operation (no ticking) and the soft-glow (kind of a pale orange) of the clock face. The first one I sent her didn't work, but Amazon replaced promptly with no issues.
