seemed to be fine - in fact we liked it so much we bought another similar model as a gift.. but now almost 2 years later - it has begun failing bit by bit... first we couldn't change the alarm time - button wouldn't work - then it went off by itself on a saturday (weekends were off)... now a few months after that - 4-5 buttons have no effect.. nada - dont work...

its a piece of junk... i have never had an alarm die so fast -- i still have alarm clocks from HIGH SCHOOL (so 20 plus years old.) that work fine. it isn't rocket science. i checked emerson radios website for warranty repair (to see if i could contact customer service) - there is no email for customer service, only a phone # - and a note stating to return to an address after getting return auth from customer service - and to include NINE dollars for repair (nice warranty) -- the clock itself was around 20.00 - so charging 1/2 of that to get it repaired (in warranty -- cause it doesn't differentiate between in and out of warranty customers) is pretty ridiculous.. especially since us postal flat rate for this item would be around 5.00...

Great clock. Auto set feature couldn`t be any eaiser, just plug it in. For a small night table radio the sound is clear and enjoyable. However, DO NOT expect this unit to automatically adjust to the new daylight savings time schedule. Website is no help either.

I've had this clock for several years and bought it after a great deal of research and a good prior experience with a similar model Emerson clock. I cannot live without a dual alarm and this one functions great. The "smartset" feature has also worked flawlessly and kept perfect time. Love it.

Don't let the "SmartSet" fool you. This is not an atomic clock nor does it set itself via radio waves to a precise time.



This is simply an alarm clock with a backup lithim CR2430 battery. When the AC power goes out the regular battery keeps running, but the display is shutoff.



When power comes back on all the clock is really doing is using the same time that the backup battery kept. So the fancy display you see when plugging it in is just the stored memory time coming back.



They set the correct time at the factory before shipping. So brand new the clock is set.



When my 3V battery died I had to go to 2 different stores (Walmart first, then finally Radioshack) to get a $5 replacement battery. I've had the clock for only 6 months.



Upon installing the new battery and plugging the clock in it did NOT set itself automatically. Instead it simply went to Jan 1, 2005. I had to manually set the date and time.



I believe their other "SmartSet" clocks are the same. If the battery ever dies and you lose AC power the clock loses its time setting and you have to MANUALLY set it.

I have owned my little gem for a few months now and all of a sudden, the little red light is lit telling me that my battery is low. I took it to a dozen stores and have not been able to find a replacement 3 volt button cell for this unit. The radio reception is fair for FM and just forget about trying it on AM. I sent an email to Emerson to see what they have to say. Put your money in a Sony.

I rated this 2/5 for one simple reason: The LED display is so bright that I literally have a blue glow in my bedroom, and that's when I have the dimmer turned to the lower setting. With it in the high setting, I see shadows in the room. It's crazy. Other than that, the sound quality of the radio is pretty flat.

I've had my clock for over a year, and it works perfectly. I love the atomic time setting feature, and the dual alarm is a great convenience. Controls are easy to set, and I needed no instruction manual to figure them out. I'd buy another for my classroom, if only I could find one! Must have been discontinued by manufacturer. I got it at a great price at WalMart, but this is a decent price on Amazon. Problem is, I usually buy Amazon Prime products, so the shipping from this seller is a bit of a shock.

The clock is just terrible. Requires 3 AAA batteries. The alarm only sounds for 1 minute and it's not very loud. I couldn't get it to read the outside temp gauge no matter what I tried. I purposely set the time 5 minutes off to test the atomic clock sync and it took 2 days despite the indicator showing it was receiving the WWVB signal. I cannot recommend this clock.

this is a great clock for setting an alarm (I really like the dual alarm) and it resets daylight savings itself by satellite. but the display is horrid. I have had to rely on another clock to tell me what time it is - the digital display started going after 6 months. Now it is almost unreadable but since I get up at the same hour everyday I have not had to change the settings in over 2 years. Sigh going to have to buy a new one just to read the time.

I specifically bought this for my 10 and 7 year old for the bathroom so they didn't have to bring their radio in every time they showered. I mounted it next to the sink so they've been turning it on even while they brush their teeth. I think it's neat to have a clock in there and the blue light acts as a night light, I can see why it would be bright in a bedroom. The sound is not the greatest, I don't even think FM is in Stereo, but it serves it's purpose. I also like that an MP3 player can be used. We tried that last night and it worked great...again, the sound is not like a Bose system, but for $18 you can't beat this. We won't need to use it as an alarm clock so I installed it high enough that the kids can't see the buttons on top...they just use the power and volume buttons located on the front of the unit.

I bought this radio because it is slim and the only one I can find that is wall mountable. I use it in the kitchen to listen to news.



The radio when first delivered did not work properly--the side lights illuminated but the time display and radio would not work. I tried pushing the reset button as recommended by Jensen customer service but it had no effect. Customer service said it was defective.



Amazon sent me a replacement that works as expected. I think it is an average radio when working as it is supposed to. The sound is average--what you would expect. As another rater noted, the light is too bright for bedroom use. The unit is not particularly attractive and casts a strong blue glow in the room. It is quite strange how the time is displayed: hour on top, then minutes below.



Note that the first radio I received showed signs of perhaps being a refurbished model. The box had a sticker on it that seemed out of place and the contents were not wrapped in plastic as were those in the second radio I received.

This works just like I wanted - it is too hard to find a hanging alarm clock and this does that great, with good reception, and nice big buttons. However, it really is just too bright. We put a cloth over it and it still shines though. Conveniently the way it works it goes off at the same time every weekday (which is a smart design). Because now we just have it covered so it doesn't shine blue, but the alarm still works and we can still hit the buttons. Stupid, but functional.

This seemed like the perfect alarm clock for me. I loved that you could change the colors and even have it not lite up at all. And the idea that I could be awoken to the sound of a stream or to ocean waves was a wonderful thought. But you have no choice to what sounds you wake to. I contacted customer service and indeed there is no choice. You wake to the first Nature Sounds and it rotates through them. But that is no good. It isn't even a nature sound it is a tune. And who lets the alarm keep going...just to get to the sound you want to wake to. But each time it goes off, it is back to sound 1.



I also had an issue with the snooze feature. It was snoozing for 10 min. But today, after hitting snooze the alarm went off every 2 min.



I think I am going to return this unit, which in itself is a pain since I already threw out the packaging and now will have to go to the post office.



The snooze function only working for 2 min. may be a malfunction, but not being able to choose which sound of the nature sounds you wake to is just unacceptable if that is the main reason for buying this product.

I searched for a long time before selecting this item. It has excellent sound. It looks nice. The only issues I have with this product are that it isn't a "quick and easy" set up. Not challenging, just more effort than one might think. - The clock display becomes miniscule while in radio mode. And the input jack is on the front instead of the back. - I had considered hooking this up to some exterior speakers, but with the input jack in view, this would have looked 'junky'. That being said, I was so impressed with the sound, that I did not feel the need to use speakers after all. I love being able to listen to stations all around the world. This really is a terrific product. Having researched many other similar products, I'd have to say this is one of the best out there.

In this age of microwave speed and advanced technology I suppose there is the danger that some people will never be satisfied. I love my I Luv! If you want to listen to local radio stations then buy an average common radio. If you are buying this as I did, to listen to music from around the world, to improve your foreign language skills, etc. you can't go wrong. My language skills have improved immensely since buying this radio. It sounds great, way better than shortwave. I have it on all the time and am quite pleased with the access I have to other cultures. Sure, when my internet goes down so does it. That's a given and is the fault of my internet provider, not the radio. I'm not very technologically inclined and I managed to program my 20 favorite stations without too much trouble, and didn't mind one bit that I had to do it with the radio, not the PC. If I wanted to have to use my PC I would just use my PC for listening to interent radio. I bought this so I wouldn't have to be tied to my PC! I can take it upstairs with me when I am doing the dishes or my homework etc. then take it back downstairs to listen to it in my bedroom. It isn't huge, but I can honestly say that I gladly give it prominence on my bedside stand. I LUV it!

This iluv radio stops and starts as it plays. It is most annoying, especially when listening to the news. It looses the internet connection for no apparent reason, then reconnects in 30 seconds or 3 minutes. This problem occurs in wifi mode or with a LAN line connected. "Customer service" is an oxymoron at iluv. There seems to be no viable way to communicate with tech support, as they don't answer the phone, don't respond to voice mail, and they have yet to respond to an email set to them a week ago. With so many other internet radios to choose from don't waste your time and money by buying an iluv product.

I have to say I am mostly disappointed with stuff in general but not with this. Out of the box I was listening to internet radio in less than 4 minutes. (I have a wireless router of course which we use to feed 2 laptops and a wii and now the iLuv int170.) The sound IS a little bass-y at low volume and yes even with the dimmer the blue output is a little strong even when dimmed.

But overall it is a cinch to use. Searching staions is very easy and again it is a cinch to preset up to 20 internet staions. If that is not enough, it also keeps track of your recently listened to stations in another screen. The headphone and auxiliary jacks are in front, where they belong.

I have not been to the website yet to register and utilize the update service online but so far, out of the box and for the price it is a winner.

I wish I had read the customer reviews before I ordered. I didn't realize there were any projection clocks that didn't have constant projection. What's the point? If you want constant projection this isn't for you. And a note to the makers of these clocks. Change the projection view. In order to see it on the wall, the clock has to be backward where you can't see the face. Also, I plugged it in as a previous reviewer had suggested and still, there's no constant projection.

I purchased this to use in as a projection clock. If you use an A/C ataptor, the projector stays on constantly, but there is a warning in the instructions that it is not meant for constant use! If I could give this product zero stars, I would. Awful. Batteries are not included. A/C adapter is NOT included. Makes an annoying LOUD beep each time you press ANY button (including the light/projector button on the top). Projection does not stay on, and the worst part? IT'S UPSIDE DOWN! You can only look up and read the projection if you're facing the clock, otherwise it's sideways and/or updside down!! Horrible design - not thought out well at all. Very disappointed. And it's much, much smaller than I would have thought. Not even nice enough for a travel clock.
