 "Works Perfectly" 2010-01-18
By Holly Short (Savannah, GA USA)
I've had my clock for over a year, and it works perfectly. I love the atomic time setting feature, and the dual alarm is a great convenience. Controls are easy to set, and I needed no instruction manual to figure them out. I'd buy another for my classroom, if only I could find one! Must have been discontinued by manufacturer. I got it at a great price at WalMart, but this is a decent price on Amazon. Problem is, I usually buy Amazon Prime products, so the shipping from this seller is a bit of a shock.

 "Terrible" 2009-12-01
By Michael A. Linneer (Sherman, TX)
The clock is just terrible. Requires 3 AAA batteries. The alarm only sounds for 1 minute and it's not very loud. I couldn't get it to read the outside temp gauge no matter what I tried. I purposely set the time 5 minutes off to test the atomic clock sync and it took 2 days despite the indicator showing it was receiving the WWVB signal. I cannot recommend this clock.

 "good clock bad display" 2009-11-10
By Barry L. Workman (Columbus, Oh USA)
this is a great clock for setting an alarm (I really like the dual alarm) and it resets daylight savings itself by satellite. but the display is horrid. I have had to rely on another clock to tell me what time it is - the digital display started going after 6 months. Now it is almost unreadable but since I get up at the same hour everyday I have not had to change the settings in over 2 years. Sigh going to have to buy a new one just to read the time.

"Lots of neat functions, horrible display" 2008-09-02
By JJN-1313 (Pennsylvania)
I picked up the slightly better version of this clock at Target (it has indoor/outdoor temp features...that version isn't here at Amazon, but otherwise they are virtually the same)...and I have to agree with the other reviewer. The display is awful. The features are great and I didn't have any trouble using it. Unfortunately, sitting it on my nightstand and looking at it while lying in bed, you could barely read the LCD display at all. Just a vague image of the numbers and whatnot. Even at eye level it's not that great. It's got a fuzzy, blurry look. The only time the display is crisp and clear is when you look down at it. And forget hitting the "nightlight" to check the time in the middle of the night. You can't see a thing. It makes this clock completely pointless to use. I'll be returning it tomorrow.

 "Accurate? Yes. Visible? No." 2008-06-05
By Rick Shaw (Cowtown, Colorado USA)
This was not a bad clock for the first few weeks after I purchased it. The radio controlled atomic time feature is actually kind of cool and the clock was quite accurate. However, it is extremely difficult to see the display unless you are at exactly the correct angle. And then after a month or so the display started to disappear bit by bit. One day the alarm did not go off and I wound up running very late to work. Now after what I consider to be an exceptionally short period of time the display has completely disappeared. Nothing. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing any clocks from Sharp in the future based upon my experience with this one.

"More number flashing than time" 2007-02-24
By Robert J. Apke (Cincinnati, Ohio United States)
I bought this clock about 4 months ago.

It malfunctions too many times since the time I bought it.

The numbers start flashing, and you cannot reset the time.

I have worked on this clock a couple of times, and it continues to flash.

The best place for this clock is in the trash can.

 "Not accurate" 2006-09-04
By Jose Cuervo (Miami, Florida United States)
This alarm clock is the worst I've owned in my life, it gains around 5-8 minutes a day so you can imagine by the end of the week it will display almost an hour more than the actual time. Keep away from this thing......

"Easy to see what time it is and pretty too!" 2009-08-14
By R. A. Pennington (Coos Bay, OR United States)
If you want a larger clear display of digits for your clock, you can't do any better than this. At night the brightness is not going to overwhelm you to hurt your sleep and in daylight you have enough brightness to see it easily, so it works well for both times of the day. It is small enough to put just about anywhere you like and large enough to show the time well with it's larger-than-a-clock radio digits.

Take note the pix of the clock on Amazon.com is gray-black and this one is as silver as all getout. Also there is no battery backup. Take off a star for that. Otherwise you do get a very nice digital clock and it is securely packed as well for surviving the package tossing it will get on it's way to you. I just wish they had them in black but hey, it's still a good clock and it keeps time well. Buy it with confidence!

 "Nice but short" 2009-01-11

The product it's great but it's a little smaller that what I was expecting and also there's no option for battery back up so I have to re set everything every time that it got disconnected.

"SImple an useful little alarm clock" 2008-11-29
By Jeffrey Hartzog (North Carolina)
I bought this little alarm clock as Christmas gift for my father so it has't been used yet but I know it will be a good simple alarm clock to replace the one he has been fussig about not working right for 6 months now. Anyway it is from SHarp ad from my experieces smaller things like this alarm clock is what they excel in anyway. Will report more after father gets it and uses it and how he like it as far as wakinng him up I guess.

 "Minature TV clock" 2008-11-02
By L. Van Vleet (Edwards, CO USA)
This is the second clock that I have ordered. The first clock's alarm goes off at 6:26 am without the switch for the alarm being turned on. I thought that after two years something was wrong with the alarm setting. Second one seem to have the same problem. I'll re-set the alarm in various ways to try and solve the problem. It is easy to see, however a little bright at night next to the bed.

"If you buy this product, no matter how cheap, You're an Idiot" 2010-02-03
By Rafael E. Calderon (Oxnard, CA)
So, I qualify for idiocy. Guilty of buying this crappy thing 'cause it looked decent. It has everything wrong that you could possibly design wrong. Very difficult to set alarm (or switch alarm times), alarm too loud or too low, switches between military time and normal time on its own, can't just click or push a button to set the alarm at night. I doubt this product is actually a "Sharp" alarm--but rather they lent their name to make a quick profit. Now, they can pay the price through these kinds of reviews. I would give it Zero stars if I could.

By Noah's Mom (San Diego, CA USA)

 "garbage" 2009-11-12
By ken (las vegas, nv United States)
I just pulled the battery from this piece of junk. The programming is as counter-intuitive as can be and it never picks up the time signal. It was too cumbersome to use as an alarm clock so i moved it to where i only needed it to tell time. And now i'm finding that its too worthless for that too. Just take your $10 and flush it down the toilet. Much less frustrating but more productive then buying this.

"Frustrating - dont wast your money" 2009-11-01
By Vince Curtis (Los Angeles, CA)
This frustrating little clock is a waste of money. Does not sync up, gains time after I corrrect the time (from my computer time), and impossible to figure out without the manual. Worth nothing. Its a waste of time - pun intended...Better to get a cheap one from the drug store.

 "Actually received SPC020" 2010-02-07
By His Boy (Washington, DC USA)
I'm not sure if it was a shipping error or that the SPC019 has been replaced with the SPC020, but the latter is the clock I received. It looks identical to the one pictured here - silver and blue wedged shaped clock, red LED display. My guess is that the SPC020 is what Amazon is shipping if you order this clock since many of the reviewers mention the night light and dual volume settings which are features of the SPC020. The technical specs on this page indicate that the clock should tell "month, date, day of week and temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit" but that is not the case, at least with the SPC020. No matter, it does tell the time with a bright display which is what a digital clock should do. The buttons are large and easy to use. The night light feature is fantastic - I ended up putting this clock in my son's room and it replaced his plastic plugin night light. This is a very nice clock at a very reasonable price. Just be aware that you may be getting a slightly different (and in my opinion better) model than the one that is listed.

 "A real "alarm clock"" 2010-01-14
By Rosemary J. Seliskar
I guess what I really wanted was a AM/FM radio alarm clock so that I could wake up to funny jokes or nice music in the morning! This alarm clock offers ... well, not exactly a "gentle awakening". I find the alarm sound to be a little aggressive (good thing there is a volume control!). Otherwise, the time display is nice and bright and it looks cool!

 "Great for the Price" 2009-12-15
By C. Green
The worst feature on this item is the display begins to fade when the batteries weaken. I suggest rechargeable batteries for this item. Other than that the clock does just what is advertised. Since the price is low you cannot expect the item to be to fancy although, as mentioned, it's great for the price.

 "Sharp LCD clock" 2009-12-09
By Sheila Suess Kennedy (Indianapolis, Indiana)
This clock is simple to use, and attractive. My only criticism--if you can call it that--is that the backlight only comes on when you touch the bar on top. I understand why--this is cordless and having constant illumination would wear out the batteries too quickly. But if I wake up at night, I'd prefer being able to just glance at the clock rather than rolling over and pushing the bar in order to see what time it is.

By Robert T. Purce
I have own this clock for four years. I have put only two sets of batteries in it. The tempurature gauge is nice. I use it in the Bering Sea to tell me how comfortable I am. The clock has done a lot of traveling. It started in China. Did some time in the Gulf of Mexico. I have taken on some of the road trip. The clock flew to Chile and sailed back to Charleston SC. Then back to Seattle Wa. The clock has fallen from my bed many times. Would I buy another clock, YES! Thank you for reading this.
