 "Gigantic Letters!!" 2010-03-10

The sound quality is wonderful, but the thing that is disturbing is the massive brightness, the super wide face, and the humongus numbers. It is about 10 inches long,3 inches wide,at a long distance it does not look the right color.Other than that it is fine

 "time display too bright" 2010-01-21
By peter cobb (denver, co)
The size, functionality, ease of use, and quality are all superb but the time display is too bright to be used as a bedside clock/radio. we actually have it across the room and have to put a light scarf over the face to tone down the light display. There is an option to reduce brightness but still too bright after that. I would return it but it is only $20 and shipping will probably be half that.

 "Love this clock" 2009-11-25
By K. Royce (USA)
Was looking for a soft purple alarm clock to match my bedroom and had difficulty finding one until this one. Loved the price and the feature of dual alarm clocks since my husband and I awake at different times. Clock is very loud or has a radio option to wake you. Only dislike is the numbers are very bright especially when you're trying to sleep but if you turn the clock away from you it's hardly noticeable anymore. I would recommend this clock to anyone. Also for an alarm clock it has a very nice look to it and the dual setting prevents two alarm clocks in one room.

"Doesn't work at ALL and isn't as shown!" 2010-01-15
By M. Bruhns (Los Angeles, Ca)
First, the clock doesn't have the nice black face with lit up digits, it has a BIG blue screen blasting right in your face, with black digits. Second, mine didn't work at all, completely DOA! It shows all the digits, turns to garble then goes completely blank. Its then my responsibility to not only send the POS to the manufacturer, but I have to include a check for return postage! Cheap construction. Can't tell what the crescendo alarm is, as it doesn't work!

 "Mixed success" 2009-08-22
By William M. Murray (Central Indiana USA)
The features this clock provides are excellent.

I especially like the large time display and automatic dimming.

It's perfect for bedside, and being able to read the time without glasses, but not providing too much light in the dark room.

The remote temp display is nice also. I mounted the sensor module on the north side of an outbuilding several hundred feet from the house and it registers temp accurately.

Issues:

Never able to set itself to the radio frequency time signal, even after plugging it in outdoors for 24 hours in several different locations. I have several other devices that work fine doing this (location: central Indiana)

Clock falls 5 minutes behind at random intervals. Never had a digital device that did that before.

The remote temp sensor doesn't work at all if placed outside when the temp is below freezing. You need to locate the remote sensor module indoors and run the sensor wire and temp bulb to the outside.

 "I don't get the other reviews" 2008-03-11
By Tyler Durden (Gaithersburg, MD USA)
I bought this clock because I sorted on best avg customer review. I don't know why the high reviews - the shortcomings of the clock are in the reviews. Setting via the atomic clock did not work at all (one of the other reviews noted the same but said its ok because they set the clock 5 minutes ahead). As another reviewer noted - the clock drifted - yup. Another wrote the alarm was not loud. I think that summed up my experience; the clock does not set, its not accurate, and the alarm is not good. I bought it to be a self setting accurate alarm clock that would wake me up. I will add a new comment, the clock looks like it is straight out of the Jetsons, and its big, that might be attractive to you, but to me it was scary. I am glad Amazon has a great return policy.

 "Better than expected" 2008-02-03
By V. Decarlo (Morristown, NJ United States)
It has two temp readings. One within the radio and one wireless (which I keep in the garage - next to my extra beer stash). The indicators are LARGE and the night light is mellow enough not to keep you up at night. A minor flaw is once it gets the exact time (when 1st plugged in) it drifts a minute or two. Could probably be reset manually but I would have hoped the engineers would not have left out an auto-update-time feature. Best part is, the Alarm Time/Alarm On-Off settings are VERY intuative. Changing the wake-up time could not be easier. Love ya's, Vic

 "Great Clock" 2008-02-01
By bree (Illinois)
When first plugging in the clock, its suposed to auto-set to your time zone. Mine didnt do that. But I didn't mind because I set my clock 5 minutes fast anyway. The indoor and outdoor temperature readings are great. I also like how the outside sensor is a wire attached to a screen you can hang on the wall. So you can see the temperature whether you're looking at the clock, or at the unit hanging on the wall. I LOVE the auto-dimming feature. One reason I switched clocks is because my other one was too bright. The brightness is perfect.

One thing to be aware of is that the lower you are looking at the clock, the harder it is to see. My bed is pretty low and my nightstand is a tiny bit higher than my bed. Any lower and I dont know if I would be able to read the numbers while laying down. Just something to be aware of.

Overall, a great clock. Recommended buy. :)

I grew up on a farm so hearing a roster crowing in the morning was a normal part of life.

After I moved to the city when I reached adulthood. I got this type of clock to wake me up for work.

The clock is very good value and highly dependable.

After about 8 years the lcd display gets burned out,but $13 for 8 years is a great value.

"Nice way to wake up." 2009-07-24
By N. Hair (Houston, TX)
I've been using this alarm clock for around two years. It is very easy to set up and use. You just set it to the time when you need to be up and it wakes you up sometime in the 30 minutes previous when it detects that you are in a light sleep. It plays one of several selectable sounds to wake you. If you are in a deep sleep clear through the 30 minutes then it wakes you up with a buzzer, but I rarely wake up to that. I had no problem getting used to sleeping with the wristband on.

Before this clock, I very often slept through my alarm, or worse, dreamt that I woke up and tried to turn off the alarm except that I couldn't turn it off. I know, it's weird. Most of the time when this clock goes off, I feel like I was about to wake up anyway.

The two things that would make it absolutely perfect would be first, more control over the options (i.e. I would love to be able to set it to wake me up within an hour of the selected time.) The second thing would be if the wristbands vibrated when the alarm went off. I know that this would require occasional battery changes, but it would be worth it.

 "Sleep Clock from hell" 2009-06-25
By Diana C. Cook
Pros:

Cons: 1. It is very difficult to installed. It froze my system the first time I tried. It installed on the third attempt. Then it took another three attempts to install the updates.

2. The major problem was that it woke me 30 minutes early the first time I used it and 21 minutes early the second time. I did not feel rested when I was awakened. I would've liked to sleep more.

3. The graph of my sleep patterns showed number of movements with no explanation. It was a little use.

I am returning my unit to Amazon. I wasted a lot of time installing and trying to use this unit.

 "Makes waking up easier" 2009-06-02
By T. Brennan
I've had this product for over a year now and both my husband and I like it very much. I don't find that the aXbo is any more difficult to set than with a regular clock. I set it for the time that I would set a regular clock for, say 6:30, and realize that it could go off as early as 6:00.

By using the aXbo, we don't wake up in the middle of a deep sleep except on the rare occasion when we haven't moved in the 30 minutes prior to the alarm, causing it to use a buzzer instead of the alarm sound that I chose.

My husband travels often for business and has far more early mornings than I do (getting up before 5:30). On those nights he always uses the aXbo and has never had a problem with either not waking up or only waking up enough to turn off the alarm and then falling back asleep.

For us, this product has been well worth the money and I would definitely buy it again.

 "When it works...." 2009-02-23
By Arun Gupta
I own this product. Its is extremely expensive but does do what it claims. When it works, ~50 percent of the time, it wakes you up feeling refreshed. However setting the alarm is a pain.. If it worked more of the time I'd use it more often but as it is it just sits on my shelf.

Like everyone else the radio is cute but thats all.I can only pick up one station and that to is fuzzy. As for the CD player it worked twice and now you push play several times it might start playing for a few seconds and quit.Crosley should see all the problems they are having with this product and make it right with the customers. The way things are today people do not have money to throw away on items that dont work. This has nothing to do with Amazon, this is a agreat sight and I love shopping here.Crosely needs to come forward and take care of this problem.

I've owned Crosley radios before that were quality products. This is not one of them.

The Cosair I received is cheaply constructed and appears to be of poor quality. I say appears to be because the CD wouldn't work after it was unpacked from the box. The construction was so poor that the plastic parts didn't even fit together properly.

I will not buy another Crosley product.

"cute radio but a.m. sounds horrible" 2009-12-04
By Summer (Ohio)
A Lib must have made this radio, not surprising since Target sells it. You can only get the lib/left public radio station on the a.m. dial. It is worthless if you cannot get 610 conservative talk. I listen to the radio to hear the truth and facts, this one does not provide that. They really don't make them like they use to.

"It keeps decent time, but..." 2009-03-08
By K. Sisco (Coolville, OH)
My clock does not look like the one pictured above. I looked for the model number on the SkyScan Web site, and could not find it - not even with a search of the site. Hmm...

The atomic function worked once for me when I first got it, but it doesn't seem want to update the time. That first time was not easy either. I had much trouble before it finally decided (on its own) to update. I have tried placing it in a west-facing window, but to no avail. I have tried taking the batteries out and starting from scratch, but still no updates since the first time I got it. Even pushing the "wave" button does not accomplish an update.

On the bright side, the clock seems to keep good time (maybe it updates occasionally, who could really know?). The projection function is what I wanted, and that is superb. The numbers projected are large and in focus (clock has a focus knob and one that changes the angle of the digits). I definitely can not complain about the projection.

I have never used the alarm, so I can't say as to how that works. I just wish the update function would readily work. And, yes, I know that we receive the atomic signal in southeastern Ohio, because my other atomic clock adjusts without issue.

"I really like this more than I expected" 2007-04-27
By D. Neal (California)
I have several SkyScans. Where I live, we lose power all-too-frequently. It works fine, has no problem getting the "sky signal" (we can't even use cell phones here) and I especially like the "ceiling time' (it projects the time onto the ceiling). The only thing I had to get used to is the alarm setting mechanism. The in-between setting does not set the alarm, you have to slide it all the way....and the alarm has an increasingly louder signal, so you can't be slow at turning it off (unless loud noises don't bother you in the AM.) Mine looks just like the picture. It always has the right time and I don't have to mess with it. What could be better?

 "Not what I ordered" 2006-12-12
By Barbara (California)
The one I received does not look like the one in the photo. I did not realize it until I came back online and looked at my order. The one I received is larger and square but works the same--the projection is what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the atomic part does not work in southern California. I had to call customer service and get it figured out and manually set the time. Customer service was helpful and nice.
