This is a very very bad alarm clock.
PRO: It picks up time zone and self set it without touching any button. It has 4 different time zones. Temperature F/C day and date like any other alarm clocks out there. Small and could carry around with you for traveling.
CONS: First of all, after I took it out of the box, it took at least 10 mins to pick up the timezone. Battery not included. It is very hard to set up, there are 4 buttons mode/set/adjust/temp. Each button has at least 2 different purpose that aren't listed below. So in other words, it takes too long to set up your clock because it's like solving a mystery puzzle. The buttons are very confusing and I'd end up spending at least 10 mins figuring it out and end up just not setting it up and use my cell instead. Bad back lighting. You'd end up frustrated after a while, not user friendly at all.

When I placed a battery in my new clock, the face whirled impressively, and a time appeared . . .. one that was 14 hours earlier than my time zone. I waited 24 hours for the clock to correct itself, but it never did. Of course, maybe that was because it remained stuck in 2004. I finally had to set it manually. So last night was daylight savings time. My phone, computer, laptop all made the change. This clock? Merrily ticking along on standard time. It's cute, it fits in the designated space, the alarm went off as set, and it allows you to select 24 hour time, but I'm sending it back.

I can't see the clock on this item. There is no backlight when the player is off and even when its on its tiny. No good for clock.

My wife gave me this item for Christmas 2008 for my office. It looks nice enough, doesn't take up a lot of room on my desk and the sound is decent at an office level (so I haven't pushed it at all). Upon first docking my iPod Nano 4G, it reported that the dock was unsupported and wouldn't charge the iPod. It wasn't a huge deal, so I let it go. Then, after maybe 6 months of use, (like the other review here) it won't turn off any more. I have to remember to unplug it each day before I leave work.
So if not charging and a non-functioning power button are acceptable to you, this is a decent choice. But I don't know that I'd be paying full price for it when you could get something more reliable for an extra 20 bones.
Oh, as far as the radio goes... I can't speak for the reception. I'm kind of on the backside of my building in relation to the stations I'm trying to pick up with another large building across from me. But the tuner is pretty "floaty" for lack of a better word. If I tune to 106.7 I'll look back later to see that it has floated one way or the other, so more often just back and forth. Not a really big deal.

In 2007, my son received the Emerson iP100SLA Portable Sound System with Digital Clock and Alarm Functions as a Christmas present from his aunt. He seemed happy with it.
Just this morning, I found it out on the patio. He had left it there after using it in our laundry room (yet another thing he failed to put up after using it, but I digress...). I now have an iPhone, and wondered if it worked with it as well. I also noticed it has an AM radio option. I have a favorite talk radio show that I listen to when I can, but not as frequently as I like. This unit is small and compact, and knew it would fit next to my computer without being an intrusion on my workspace. I tested whether my iPhone fit. YES. I played some music and WOW! Nice clear and booming sound. AM/FM radio is a much appreciated plus, along with the alarm feature. Low profile and cool look add to it's attractability. I was impressed.
I came to this site to see the cost, as I'd like to purchase one for myself. Imagine my surprise when I saw the low, one star rating. I read the review, and thankfully I have not seen the issues the other person encountered. As I stated earlier, my son has had and used this over a year, so the fact that I am a "newbie" to using this is not the issue. I tested the power ON/OFF button and it works as it's supposed to. I don't mind the bright LED light.
From what I've seen and experienced, it is a great unit. I am impressed. Now, hopefully my son can be bribed...errr...persuaded to give this one up? Somehow, I doubt it.

The Emerson iP100SLA iPod docking station and alarm clock is a flawed piece of electronic equipment. Be aware that after a month or two once your 15-day return policy has expired, it may well malfunction. Mine will not turn off. That is, a simple thing like the on - off switch was not built in a sturdy enough manner to last even three months. In researching online I see other identical complaints from customers of this same product. The display on this product is much too bright for an alarm clock since it has to be physically blocked by an opaque object each night in order to sleep without a light shinning right in your eyes. On the plus side, this product has pretty good sound for the price and is nice looking. The iPod is held firmly in place that can help protect its fragile dock. The radio tunes in holds station signals pretty well.

This is one really bad product. I wish I could give it a "zero star" rating. After less than 30 days of use the alarm and clock settings went absolutely haywire. The clock would either change the time on its own or the display would turn to hieroglyphics. Very cheaply made product, fit only for the trash heap. Avoid this product...You'll be glad you did!

I agree with many of the reviews posted. This is a wonderful clock radio. We bought it for our daughter as she prepared for Kindergarten. She loves the design. The numbers are easy to read, the foot print is small, and it is very sturdy. The radio works very well and the digital tuner is perfect for a 5-year old. We sent the presets and she can pick which ever station she likes. the only downside are the programed sounds. What makes them "princess" sounds is questionable. We just ignore them and use it like a great clock radio. I wish they made a plain (non-princess, Mickey, or Buzz Lightyear) one for my office.

Personally I like the red and yellow "suitable for boys or girls" alarm clock better with sounds of disney characters, splashing in the tub, in an old fashioned car honking a horn, multiple alarm clocks ringing,and goofy mumbling to himself "har har har". My daughter saw this one though and wanted to "trade me" for it. She loves princess anything and is willing to put up with all the giggling sounds.

Although the clock is cute, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. I was under the impression that the disney princess alarm sounds were actual songs. Instead, your 5 choices are a ringing bell with birds chirpping, someone giggling with a bell ringing, someone giggling with the ocean waves, someone saying la la la, and a magic wand sound. You also have the choice to wake up to the radio. Overall, the clock is OK, but it is not what I expected.

We got this for my daughter, she is a Disney Proncess Nut, dresses like one, and wants to have anything, and everything Princess. (We hope it is just a phase, she used to be into Dinosaurs. It could be alot worse, and you are only a kid once so what the heck.) But it wakes you up to differnt recognizable Princess tunes. It is very durable, and well made, and looks great.
I don't know what else to say, it wakes her up in the morning, and at least for now, she is in a much better mood than when the buzzer or mom/dad woke her up.
I highly ecomend this product for your little Princess.
